Ok so im going to add a display fruge to my system the tank im adding as the refugium has been set up for over a year and had a crash about a month ago and killed some of my favorite fish( I almost cried) but now i am getting to a loint where i need to move on and make it a fuge i was just wondering how i should plumb the tank????
Should i do a seperate pump in the sump pumping it?
Should i run the overflow from the DT to the fuge then to the sump?
What does everyone think?

I had one on my 100 gal peninsula it was a 12 gal mr.aqua tank, with a 300gph glass holes overflow, I had the display fuge on its own return pump and the overflow for it right back into the sump, it was essentially 2 tanks sharing the same sump. It worked very well and kept algae from growing in my sump do to light spillage

Love it !!!

Use it as an excuse to get some fish you wish you could have but never could due to -reasons-, Angler fish, orange spotted filefish, etc.

I never kept any fish in it on purpose lol I kept a clown in there that was getting beat up but I didn't want to put food in my refugium it would kind of defeat the purpose. I did have a huge Halloween hermit in there that would munch the algae and looked cool.

Yeah you're right about adding food in there. It depends on whatever it is you're keeping and how sustainable the little macro system is. Some could probably handle a few fish without even noticing any bump in nitrates/phos
