Don't be like me.....I paid in full for my $475 sump in June, and I got it about a week ago. I guess my problem is I trusted the guy. I'm not sure I'd even have my sump today, if it weren't for a couple of friends on this fourm that knows him. I personally won't be using him again. Even w/o a deposit. It's principle now.

LOL my name is Darrell too!!

He just lagged. I paid him up front. To my fault I did want to re-do the design so I told him to wait a week while I re-think it. Then when I was trying to get a hold of him for his opinion, he was unresponsive. Prior to my payment, he was very quick to reply to texts and called me back promptly most of the time the same day. After payment, replies to texts often came several days later, I would text him back within a few minutes, then no reply for days. I called him countless times left voicemails, nothing. Finally one day he told me he was on vacation, so I let him be for a week. Then after that I started calling and texting again, and again no response. Then finally he told me sorry, he had very bad ulcer problem and was out of work for a week. Then a few days after that, he was jury duty. Oddly enough I found out while he had "ulcers" and "jury duty" he was working over at Chad's house. Full of crap.

After a while one of my friends got another friend of his involved since he knows John fairly well, only that the point did John finally build the sump. But when he built it, he built it backwards, so he had to re-do it, which took longer.

At the end, after 3-4 months I finally got my sump.

The part that sucks the most, is I lost the drive and enthusiasm to get my upgrade going. I have what I need to get it going now for a couple weeks and I haven't even touched it, I really don't even care anymore about it. Extreme buzz kill.

Sorry, to hear that. Sounds like he needs more help. I have placed a rather large order and hope to get it next week. So, I haven't been let down yet. I do feel his prices are good and he will work with you. GLWB

Do yourself a favor and buy a glass tank instead of an acrylic tank. Acrylic scratches way TOO easy
+1 glass is better for small to large builds. If you're going super big, 300gal plus then acrylic may be the right material.............

Yeah I love the custom acrylic sumps that John makes. But me personally I wouldn't own an acrylic display tank ever again.

Scott's new tank is 400 gallons, all glass. Its bichen
