Picked this guy up from a local reefer three weeks ago. He came from a reef and I was told he does not nip at any corals. So far so good, he's eating frozen (mix of LRS & Chefzilla) and pellets. Shows interest in seaweed but won't go after it just yet. Green and purple offered up so far.

Any tips on how to get him to eat seaweed? Trying my best to keep him fed and fat to avoid him developing a taste for coral.

If you aren't already, try rubberbanding some nori to a small rock you can move around and place it somewhere on the bottom near the rockwork especially near the caves/overhangs he hangs out under mostly. It may take a few weeks until he catches on. Beautiful looking fish and in perfect condition!!!

Great advice, i'll give it a try. My tangs aren't all that great at sharing so it just may work.

How is he behaving with other tank mates? I want to get one but I have read and heard they are semi aggressive.
He's always been fine. My Tomini Tang showed a level of aggression towards him that I've never seen. I'm guessing it's a color association thing. The Angel found a place to hide until the Tomini got it out of his system and now things are good.

Here's a vid of him and nemo on the first day.

Awesome fish! Can be pretty darn nasty but only towards new fish so adding last is a definite plus. Best way I've found to feed nori to new guys is to shred it in the water with my fingers. The pieces will end up looking like flakes. If he still doesn't want to eat it and you insist on him eating it mix it with something he does like. I like to add nori to my home made frozen food. Guys that normally don't eat nori devour the meaty chunks with nori in it, suckers lol.

Thanks for the input Manny. I've added a leopard since with no issues so fingers crossed. Will spend some time today and hopefully get something figured out.

So I was able to get him to eat seaweed today. The tips worked, thanks guys. He waits until the tangs clear out and then goes after it.
