Ok so my tank has been up and running for 8 months now and my water levels are all fine and within good readings. But I have been noticing now with the last month the green algae has been growing more then usual. Is this a bad sign and if it is what should I do to fix it.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I'll try to help.
Did you add any coral pieces/frags that might have had GHA on them?
Have you kept the same light or changed recently?
Maybe a stronger CUC is needed or less photo-period in your tank.
I'd try to find the best "natural' way of curing prior to going with chemicals.

Get a media reactor and run GFO.. that way your phosphates can be eliminated.

Also, you can look into dosing with NOPOX (RedSea)
