I have a top fathom 100a on my 100g tank. The way I have been setting my skimmer to get the skim mate color I want is to leave the air valve wide open to get the most air in there and adjusting the water level up and down using the sliding outlet pipe on the skimmer.

Could I be putting to much air into the skimmer and in turn not be getting the best performance out of it?

Its been on the tank about a week and a half, I was using it on my 60g reef tank for 3 months and transferred it straight to this tank so it should be broken in but I don't know if I had it setup correctly on that tank.

The skimmer was working fine until I changed 15g of water 2 days ago and since then has not skimmed anything but it is still mixing the air and water as before.

I also don't dose anything in the tank. I cant use my preferred skimmer that I was using before as its really tight in my sump and it creates micro bubbles in my DT.

How old is the tank that you transferred the skimmer to/ how heavy is the bioload? If there isn't a large bioload to add DOC's, combined with your recent water change, there might not be much to skim. After large water changes, my skimmer will stop producing foam for a while, then start up again without any adjustments once the tank "catches up" to it.
