From my understanding I believe carpet nems are more difficult to keep than RBTA's. If you had trouble with the RBTA I would guess that a carpet would likely suffer the same fate in the tank.

If it died after 3 months, it had nothing to do with acclimating it. You prolly have issues with either water quality, or lighting.

What's lights are u running?

I got nothing then. You might try to find a captive bred bta then. They're hardier.

Also, don't worry about your clowns. They'll find something to host. Like a goni, frogspawn, or powerhead. They'll be fine without a nem.

Maxi minis are cool but not sure if clowns host them.. I have two, theyre pretty easy to take care of..
Different types of clownfish will host in different types of nems. Some clownfish, especially captive bred ones, won't even host in an anemone even if you have one & it's a type they normally will host in. I wouldn't worry too much about having a nem for your clowns. They will be fine & happy enough without one.

The nems might not like your pc lights.
I was thinking the same thing. Bta's like a lot of light.... I don't believe pc's are strong enough. I wouldn't get another one unless you upgrade your lighting. It would be especially important to feed the nem on a regular basis with the weak lighting, too. And if you were able to keep one alive under pc lighting, the colors of the nem would likely not be as pretty as they would be under strong lighting. Very likely brown, but as long as you feed it to supplement for the lighting it's not getting, it could live for a long time in it's brown state.

Please tell us a little about your bta before it died. Did it lose it's color or bleach at all? Did you feed it?
