i'm redoing my floor again... i had a floating vinyl plank, but i saw that it buckled... wasn't sure why, but i think my furniture is just too damn heavy.. (tank, gun safe)

so, i'm redoing it with some thicker LVP... but i'm upgrading tank size to a 100, and well, i think i'm just gonna put felt feet on the gunsafe... but the tank... what can i put under it and then still lay the floor around it, and put like a 1/4" molding around the stand to make it look so effin' ugly... or should i just lay it on top and be like... thugg lyfe...? i'm sorta doing it right now, and would appreciate if you stay out of the craigslist section and answer a reef related question for once... LMFAO... and wow, this place looks terrible on the laptop... i miss the old setup, but i understand that that old format is obsolete...

so cliff notes for you sentence reading impaired...

•old floor dead AF 'cuz tank
•using thicker flooring, should i put tank on top...???
•what to put under tank to protect baseboards...???¿
•stay out of the craigslist section plz...
•socalireefs is an eye sore, and too much blue... blue light makes frogs gay like FR...

kthxbye...

You can put tank on floor. I have a laminate and it's fine. It would be better if the weight was evenly distributed rather than on 4 or 6 points.

I just read that the manufacturer recommended that it should be distributed on 4-6 points instead of this large square of heavy pressure... What if i line the tank with felt...??? I'm going to place the safe over these huge furniture mover things... The big ones... I have felt, maybe felt with yoga mat on top...? Lmao...

And I think laminate is different right...? I'm using vinyl planks... They're supposed to expand and contract... Especially since I can't have ac in the living room because of the plants... Lol... I'm pretty sure that's why the last floor died...

I wouldnt and I didnt. You leave the gap around the walls. The expansion gap is generally the thickness of the flooring. It's an easy way to judge it.

What if you lay a 1/2” piece of plywood in between tank and flooring? Just cut it the width of tank stand
Eww, half inch is enormous... 'twas thinking of 1/4" plywood embellished with 24k gold guilding to resemble bees on a garden in heaven with halos on their heads... Fancy...

Or even 1/4" masonry board with a layer of pond liner.... Idk... Might delete later...
