Seems counter productive if you have to use filter socks which takes bacteria out.
I guess I could put it in the return chamber if the sump before the skimmer and refugium?

Wow, fake siporax! It is about $15/liter. Not a lot of profit/money to make it worth counterfeiting. But who knows
not saying everyones for sale here are fake but i heard there are some counterfeit ones out there
you will be surprised 1 dollar is one dollar. look at all the fake named corals going around grab a wild colony that looks like the named piece and just fake it.

I was using this bio Ring that make out of Ceramic and some Glass before from Asian LFS. They look the same as this but is fraction of cost. I feel like someone just put the Marine label and jack up the price. I remember I paid like $3 per 500gram.
If I go this route, maybe consider these Bio Ring out of glass.

I went the route of using Cerameco Detox blox for my 6 month old 50 cube with minimal aquascape. My nitrates wouldn't budge below 10ppm (salifert) before they went in. In about a month, my nitrates were undetectable, and still are. I have them setup in my sump as such:

You want to have them setup in a way that will allow them to get maximum flow through them. I havent had any issues with detritus buildup, they are in my fuge chamber of the sump. I have seen a lot of folks lay them on the bottom glass of the sump, but based on my experience, you want them elevated. I wouldn't necessarily say that they work any better than plain old live rock, but if you like to go minimal, they will definitely help.

Where did you buy your Cerameco Detox Blox?

Also, what is that black rectangular thing just left to the TwoLittleFishies mag? What is its purpose?

Thanks for the link.

Algae scrubber huh, I might have to get one of those, just to test it out.
I'm actually selling it if you are interested. I don't have the bio load, so it never took off for me. PM me if your interested

I would think it will work better then live rock because in your sump it's kinda forcing the water through it. I'm gonna try using it in a reactor. I have two TLF reactors that do carbon and GFO. I think I'm gonna mix them and put them in one so I will have the other one for the bio media

Why would you want 0 nitrates?

Sounds like a great idea. I would like to know how that works out. Are you going to also do a mixture of bio media or just siporax?
