Was fortunately enough to purchase the phototype for a steal... it seems WAY taller than 25 inches.. The things a beast and almost touching the ceiling of my truck.

Hey Wally, do you know if the gc3 is big enough for a 150g heavy bioload?:yes4:

Is the build quality any better than the originals? My old ASM skimmer was a POS in those terms. Cheap thin plastic, etc. I mean it did produce skimmate but I hated that thing.

GC3 on a 150 gallon heavy load?... Okay if you plan to water change bi-monthly, have large carbon/GFO reactors, and run a refugium with lots of macros. I had a 20 inch tall cone with a similar rated pump to the GC3 on my heavy load 100 gallons and I still felt it was too weak.. That's in addition with 200 mangroves on a DSB to supplement it.

Yeah, this skimmer is made from the same manufacturer as Bubble Magnus, Seaside, and a half dozen other Chinese made skimmers on the market. Wayyy more improved quality of material and I totally criticized the material build of the old ASM skimmer too...

That why I didnt bother with the Sedra.... too many cons for me.. i just felt the PSK-1000 is way more sufficient even if I had to run two and figure how to work 'em in....

I had the wm as150 great skimmer but the Sedra is an energy hog.
Thanks Evanski9.. good meeting ya... I cant wait to break her in..
