yea I had a couple of bad experience there. For example one of the worker was washing his hands in one of the fish tank and splashed water all over my shoes and just laugh.

So are the prices listed on their site fake or what? If they are isn't that false advertisement?

I almost bought a tank there, 120g glass 48"x24"x24" for $199 is a great deal.

Like I've said before.......................You can't beat thier prices on tanks.............I paid $159 for a CFL 60 gallon acrylic.

If you take in the ad & make them stick to thier guns, they will sell it to you at that price.

I wouldn't buy livestock there & if you showed me a place that sells tanks as cheap as they do, I'd probably shop there, but until then, ATA has my business for tanks.

I haven't bought anything there, but I know they are VERY rude on the phone. They lost my business on that alone.

I drove all the way there for a 12g nano cube dx because of the low advertised price.
Before I went in, I called, and the guy on the phone said they had it in stock.
I went in, it wasnt in stock.

The only nano cube they had was a 24g. It was the only one they had too. It was a non-deluxe version and the price they told me was higher than the advertised price of the deluxe.

Then I wanted this cute little fish and the guy couldnt catch it with the net. And he just gave up.

I went home bummed out. Not planning to come back ever.

I too was very curious about ATA with the great advertised prices and the huge selecton. So I made the cultural trip to Cerritos and man what a disapointment. The place was only a fraction of the size that I was had pictured. I did one loop around the tiny store saw all the sickly looking fish, small inventory in comparison to what they advertise, checked out the gangster looking employees (like Im gonna believe anything these little hoods have to say) and walked out. Total drive time about 45 minutes, total time spent in store about 1 minute. It only took so long to get out cause a fish did catch my eye, I decided against it.
Maybe for a tank I would consider them but by the looks of their operation I really question the quality of the workmanship. It was a wasted trip for me.

I really seem to have bad luck with fish spots outside the OC. Looks like Coral Oasis has business for life!!

I dont get this thread???

You sit here rant and complain but yet you give them props by posting thier name, address and tele number and link to thier website.

Sounds like you are doing them a service here...

And for the record, since I never been anywhere FIRST.

Will this be the FIRST rant / push / mole thread for ATA???

everything they do is custom, they rarely stock anything, the place is too damn small.

So, go ahead, make the drive, and check out the prices, they can not be beat.

But, if you do order from them, discuss the details of the top of the tank, i.e. the brace.

Make sure it is as small as possible.

On my tank, (180 gallon), there are two braces, that are ten inches wide, (which is a ton).

Then the glass they used was not thick enough, I guess, cause they doubled it up, i.e. they laminated two pieces of glass together with silicone, so the silicone is squished inbetween the glass and it definately is blocking light...

btw: is it possible to modify a tank and remove the mfg bracing and do anything else with it, (while there is fish in the tank)

Thanks

Bill
