Ati and Reefbrite or Ati kessil?

Even with the Ati on full blast ? Would I need to 360? I have one right now

OP, I had these set up last year.

1- 48" 6x54w ATI Sunpower and RB Tech version in actinic
2- 48" 6x54w ATI Sunpower and RB Tech version in actinic and two Kessils A350W
3- 48" 6x54w ATI Sunpower and two Kessils A350W

I liked the cleaned look of both ATI Sunpower and RB LED better. If you are looking for a clean and aesthetic set up, The ATI and RB is a good combo to go.

That's exactly what I'm going be running. Well, one rb for now. Do you see shimmer when running the t5's 100% percent?

Yes, there is a little bit of shimmer with all 6 T5 bulbs on - more surface agitation will help produce more shimmer. It's still doesn't compare to Halides or the LEDs alone. It looks really good with 2 T5s running during dusk/dawn times. I ran Halides on all my prior tanks. I'm getting use to the T5/LED look though now and like it.

Oh and I'm running 24w T5s too.

You might not get the shimmering with just one A360. I had two A350w.

They were A350w flat form. I went through a dimmable and non-dim Sunpower ATI T5 within 12-14 weeks. I like this current LED lighting systems now. Sleek and clean !

Reefbrites make coral pop, but do not add shimmer with T5, the 360 is a point source light similar to halide, but the 16 T5 bulbs drown it out. Shimmer is not very possible with T5 on because T 5 lights all the shadows. With The T5 off the Kessils blow the RB away for shimmer, but I like the control and spread of RB for dawn to dusk. This is why both is better. If you need Shimmer build a halide Kessil combo.

If shimmer added to your T5, than Kessil is a better choice, but in my opinion shimmer is not going to happen when your T5 bulbs are on.

Ok thank you ... And most likely will go with the kessil just need to figure out how to hang the light . Thanks for input and opinions ... Feel free to keep adding pic of your ati combo set up gives me and others ideas of what to do

I'm doing the same setup as you on a 24" ATI with 2 a160w kessils. Here's what I came up with
I used speaker mounts from best buy. Kind of looks like a spaceship now but pretty clean looking
Btw, is the 0311 in your screen name by any chance your mos? If so I just got out last month. I was a doc with 3/7 and 3D LAR
