Ati powercone 250i upgrade q

A friend who's opinion I respect recommended a ATI powercone 250 I skimmer for our 300. Not much in the form of feedback on these ati skimmers. It has a funky impeller design. Anyone have any feedback on these or thoughts? It would go on a 300g sps display which currently had aquamaxx coneS co3 and we are looking to upgrade.
Is it a worthwhile upgrade?

Dam that is a weird impeller/ wheel....what happens if it gets clogged from build up?

it should be good enough. i have a 200 and its a beast. its my back up skimmer for now. until i redesign my fish room again then i will make it my primary skimmer. most air draw for the power. i dont mess with the adjustable pump. just set it high and forget about it. just empty the cup.

Bump anyone else? I like the body, not sure about how good the pump is

That impeller looks kinda like the mesh mods people used to do on needle wheels, but with more layers
