Does anyone here use an ATS on their sysyem? I plan to go with an ATS in place of a refugium this time around. If you use one:

Is it a DIY or a pre packaged kit?

Does anyone have experience with Turbo's ATS series? I just signed up on the waiting list for the new Rev4 L2. I just never see them on build threads here, so I figured I'd ask.

I have a DIY ATS . Very rarely do water changes. Basically it ends up being a trade off less water changes/ more dosing of trace elements . I find it to be much easier to run an extremely stable system with an ATS.

I'm also running an ATS on a 300 gallon. It's diy off a drain line so I don't have an extra pump.

It 17" X 15"

As long as u keep the screen lit good the scrubber will do great. If u run fluorescent bulbs u will need to change the bulbs out every few months.
I've stops running a skimmer on the tank do to the scrubber cleaning the water to good.

That's great to hear. How large of a screen are you running and are you running CFL or leds?

Thanks bud, I'll search for the thread. I really like the Rev4, a water fall but contained making it in line and won't take room up in my sump. But it probably cost 5-10x a diy so I may still go that route.

Whoa, that's bad ***. That things working hard! How large is that screen, what k bulbs are you running? How long did it take to get that growth? Good idea plumbing off the drain, I like the union too so you can just pull the whole thing easily.

Edit: just saw the size.

To be honest Matt I'm not sure what k the bulbs are. There not soft white tho. Not much yellow in the bulbs.
That's about 2 weeks of growth on the screen. I try to scrap the screen clean every two to three weeks. I'll clean the screen later to day to show of much comes off.

Matt, I have an upflow diy scrubber. You can stop by and check it out...I'm not currently using it, but may set it up on my new sps tank. Check out this thread on r2r. They talk about scrubbers on it.

That threads added to my favorites. Lots of info on issues I've been dealing with in my system. I've got my nutrients up to 2.5 nitrates and .o2 phosphates but haven't seen much improvement in my pale sps and receding lps. Looks like I may need to stop being so lazy with swapping out my carbon. I always thought algae was more and eye sore than having the potential to feed bacteria. Very interesting.
