ANYONE ELSE HERE BUY BAD FISH FROM ATA IN CERRITOS ??? I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM, EVER AGAIN. I BOUGHT TWO CLOWNS YESTERDAY, ONLY TO HAVE ONE FLOATING IN MY TANK TODAY. I THOUGHT THEY KINDA HAD A (LIGHT WHITE FILM) OVER THEM, BUT WASN'T SURE UNTIL I GOT HOME AND REALLY LOOKED AT THEM. (THEY BOTH HAVE FUNGUS) THE OTHER THAT IS STILL ALIVE LOOKS ALL BEAT UP AROUND THE NOSE... :help: HE HASN'T, AND WON'T EAT ANYTHING. I CALLED ATA, AND THE OWNER RUDELY SAID, "NO EXCHANGES OR GUARANTEES" ...

I'VE HEARD BAD STORIES ABOUT THEM BEFORE, BUT I WENT TO GO CHECK THEM OUT ANYWAY SINCE I WAS IN THE AREA YESTERDAY.... I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER.

ANY OTHER HORROR STORIES ABOUT ATA ???

I went there. Any place where half the fish are damaged/hurt..... No WAY!
Just take a look at the sharks! Unfortunately the internet will keep them in business.

I have purchased fish and corals from ATA. Clowns always die, my goby...perfect. Never a problem w/corals. Although i won't buy fish from them, I just went thru a battle of keeping Seabe clowns in my nano only for them to die within 3 days. All from different stores (high end stores at that).Clowns get some kind of a stress disease within 5 days of transportation that ONLY clowns get (not sure of the spelling of the name). I am not defending ATA, just something I learned in my last battle w/ clowns.

i actually have gotten lucky. i bought a purple firefish from them and has survived, its been about three weeks now. and also a pink ric which is growing everyday.

but in terms of recommending the place, hell no. i'm just impatient enough to be stupid, but still get lucky.

well, just to let you all know... i bought a baby white striped maroon clown to replace the other 2 clowns, and he is very active and eating well. NO, i didn't buy another one from those a-holes... instead, i went to another lfs and paid a few bucks more for this happy fish. he swims around a lot and eats like there is no tomorrow.

like the old saying goes, " you get what you pay for"

beware of sick fish from ata.........

i got my Sohal tang from them. He had niped fins and his color was bad. I still decided to get him to save him from this store. I fed him good food with garlic and a nice big tank with in 1 month he was fat and healthy. I had him for over a year and then down graded my tank so i had to sell him. He still has him and is healthy.

As for other fish i have got from them they have died within a couple days. I guess its all about luck with them. but your chances are better if you dont buy from them and get fish else where. My $0.02

I've had mixed results with the fish i buy from ATA, I would say i have a 50% survival rate. I bought 6 fish recently and 3 of them are no longer swimming. In fact I dont know where they are iin my tank, they just stopped appearing one morning. Before that they had signs of some infection on the body. The other 3 i got from them appear to be healthy.\

So today the rest of everything I bought from ATA died... I hate that place... Also I have a lavender tang that appears to have been infected from the ATA fish... White spots all over and definately showing signs of ICK... Should I take him out and put him out of his misery... I don't want my eels to get infected or my coral beauty...

I was wondering why you guys don't quarintine your fish too. I don't mean this as an insult but don't you think if you lost other fish from your display tank from not QT, that you would blame yourself I know I only blame myself. Why? because it could can been provented if any LFS is sick and Qt'ed corrently.

Have I ever not QT? yes, I have put fish right into display because these fish don't do well in QT like Regel Angel and others but I made darn well it "looks" healthly and eatting then decide is it worth my risk to my display tank. I also find out if the tanks share water if so are any other fish sick, if so even if the fish you was "appear" healthly, I treat it as sick, QT, watch, and decide on if its truely sick or not.
