I can sell to you for $250 if you like this unique yellow tang, just let me know
I actually have 4 yellow tangs already hence I passed on the original deal.

Anyway, the fish are now yours. It’s up to you on how much you want to enjoy or sell the fish. Looks like there is an offer at $125. If you think you can sell for $200-250, great! In the end, buyers beware. I’ve bought stuff that was less-than expected but I was committed. It was on me to inspect and proceed with the sale - nobody forced me. This is no different from buying other merchandises as well.

Good luck.

No offense, but all you guys suck at math. (Or are we just fudging numbers for the wife?) :D:p

At least the seller didn't call it "rare". LOL.

Just trying to bring a little levity to this.
For the wife, it’s only $99 (way cheaper than $100 - omg) and not $325. ;)

Yup, think of it this way — that rare yellow tang alone was $325 and the other two fish were free. That’s an awesome deal? Ha

All joking aside, I do feel bad about this transaction as it is local reefer to reefer, and it's not the outcome you wanted. This situation definitely sucks. Biota yellow tangs do come in very small, but I think they do color up and get big fairly quickly. You will be surprised. I thought some of my smaller tangs will be bullied, but they actually hold their own. I hope you better luck in next transaction.

Dang sucks to see. I learned my lesson the hard way a few years back buying fish in the dark. Never again. Definitely a lesson learned the hard way unfortunately. Fish can be hard too on the seller and buyers end. Stress happens sometimes when your chasing the bastards around for hours with a net. Even when I’ve caught fish in a box trap they generally look stressed. Hopefully you can live with what you got and they live as well! If not like others have said just rehome. Always gotta check things out before buy.

I totally empathize with the OP and perhaps the seller for not disclosing everything but then again, sometimes the seller might not even noticed.

Sharing my recent purchase: I bought another yellow tang & purple tang combo. The seller told me prior that both fish were getting bullied and there were some damages to the pectoral fins. I bought the fish anyway knowing/hoping that this will be recovered in a few months. I had a good deal with the fish and corals, so I was happier than a clam. The seller was happy since he was shutting down the tank and needed these fish go to a good home.

It’s a small reefing community so I think we should spread the love.

Hi all,
I know you’ve been reading everything this person has to say and want you to hear which is totally fine.
I was hoping to take the high road on this one but…
Upon inspection he used his flashlight from his phone and said everything was okay on his end. I thought everything was good at that point but after receiving numerous texts, I basically offered him $125 to take the fish back. However, he wanted to return all 3 because the yellow tang was for a “friend” and had no need for the other two tangs. The post clearly said for all 3. Please don’t buy everything if you don’t intend of keeping them. He then wanted $250 for the yellow alone which is ridiculous.
I’m not a store and I don’t sell market price. Isn’t that the whole reason why we use the forum? I then suggested why doesn’t he just post to sell the fish and his response was he was a new member and couldn’t sell. I’ve seen his posts. He has numerous posts so I’m unclear why he cannot post.
I’ve already told him I didn’t notice the eye disparity and that’s still the case. I’ve had these fish a long time and treat them as pets. All were healthy and eating at the time. I even provided him a video of them eating.
Bottom line, I’ve been a member of this forum almost 16 years and have met some wonderful reefers along the way and have had ZERO issues with anyone. Not one.
