So Ive been battling Dino for the last 2 weeks. It popped up after doing a water change and quickly took over. I would suck as much out as possible but it seems to just come back stronger the next day. I stopped all dosing and turned off the slimmer and decided to try the peroxide and 3 day blackout method. This seemed to have worked for the Dino. Unfortunately I lost a few sps (most likely succumbed to the Dino, and not the black out). I really really want to perform a wc, but Im scared out of my mind that it will pop back up.
Any suggestions on when I can dona wc and start dosing again?
Im a bit paranoid the peroxide in the tank will damage more of my coral if I dont do a wc?
And I just freaking out over nothing? Anyone else have long term success with this method?
Thanks

Ive had success with the blackout. I didnt dose peroxide.

Are you using 0 TDS RO/DI water to mix saltwater and for top off? Id be looking closely at that since it popped up after a waterchange. Dinos love silicates so make sure your zeroed out and you mixing tub is clean.

I should have stated that prior to the wc I replaced all filters on the RoODI. Let it run for about 25 min. Was reading 0 TDS. The only thing I did not replace was the DI Resin.
Now that you mention it my 55 gallon mixing drum was not cleaned very well from the prior water changes.

I got the same problem but just on one side of the tank. How do you clear it if you don't mind sharing
Thanks
I dosed hydrogen peroxide. 1ml per 10 gallons of tank water and did a 3 day black out. The peroxide stsryed working arriving day 3. I continued the peroxide for a total of 7 days. It worked for me.

I had a horrible issue with dinos to start. I did a 3 day blackout. Turned on lights. Came back a week later. Did another 3 day black out. Turned on lights and it came back again a week after that. Did a 3rd 3 day blackout and haven't had a problem since. My guess is whatever was "feeding" the dinos wasn't gone from the first 2 blackout and after the 3rd, my tank balanced itself out. Didnt use any chemicals or anything drastic. Corals and fish were all happy and healthy. Make sure when/if you do a blackout to make sure it's completely dark. Any light that gets to the tank and keep the dinos alive. Good luck

I have that about two and a half years ago wiped out my tank call my Coral almost. I had to do three blackouts I did peroxide but I would recommend just the blackouts I did 5 to 7 days after the 3rd blackout it was gone
