I had success with Cherry Corals, the package looked like he took some time with it. Meaning it was well packed, clean, and the corals all came in healthy. Also Todd kept in contact with me during the order. I even organized a group order for SDR.

Seems like Fedex is choice of us Reefers? No love for USPS or UPS?

I will be having corals shipped from here to Chicago, I better get it done before winter

IMO heat is a bigger issue then cold when shipping. Grew up in MN and never once had problems shipping in winter. Its the summer heat that will give you problems. Heat packs are much more predictable then cold packs. Just an observation.

I always used FedEx and they only f-ed up once.

Fedex, no question. I shipped with all the major three (dhl is gone now), and fedex's success rate was far higher than the rest. I shipped thousands of boxes a year for about 6 years, so take my word for it that with corals fedex is the safest and best way to go. And the most expensive.

i work for ups and was wondering why nobody likes to ship through us?
Because when shipping ground, if UPS screws up, they just delay your delivery date. On more then one occasion, I've had a delivery date & UPS has messed up & misrouted the item. Instead of going the extra mile & doing what it takes to make their customer happy & HONORING the delivery date, they just reschedule your delivery date to a later date. I'm actually going thru this right now. I was SUPPOSE to get my lights today, but once again UPS screws up & misroutes the shipment & delays my delivery date to Monday.

This is why I will always give my money to Fed Ex. They may have damaged a few shipments w/ me, but they always honor their delivery date.

Besides UPS stands for "You Park Shitty"..................

Fedex has a better tracking system. I have lots of success with USPS reliable and cheap but tracking sucks.

I use UPS. Besides,-

FedEx Express does not accept live-animal shipments as part of its regular-scheduled service and does not transport household pets such as dogs, cats, birds and hamsters. FedEx Express may accept certain shipments of live animals such as horses, livestock and zoo animals (to and from zoo locations only) on an exception basis if approved and coordinated by the FedEx Live Animal Desk (call 1.800.405.9052).

If approved by FedEx, we may accept non-venomous reptiles, amphibians, live/tropical fish and beneficial insects on an exception basis under the following conditions:

1. Shipments must be from a business to a business (from a breeder to a pet store, for example).
2. The shipper must have its packaging tested and pre-approved by FedEx Packaging Design and Development for the type of animal being shipped. Call 1.800.633.7019 for assistance. It is the responsibility of the shipper to adequately package shipments for all temperature extremes and handling conditions.

UPS won't ship live animals w/o jumping thru hoops also. Key thing is to not tell them there are live animals in the shipment. Tell them it is some type of non hazardous liquid.

They all suck in my experiance. They could care less about your animals. I had a customer call and tell me the driver rolled he box up the drive way even though it clearly said live fish on 4 sides. To make it worse both UPS and Fedex will tell the customer they will cover damage if the animals arrive dead, but they will not pay a cent! I had them deliver a totally crushed box to a customer. It was sogy wet but no water was in the bags. They would do nothing, even though it was clearly thier fault. They will only give credit for the shipping charge. Tthe customer thinks your not out of pocket when you are big time.
