When's the best day to buy fish? On delivery day? A couple days after they have been acclimated into the lfs tank?

I rather get them straight from the supplier
That way you don't stress them out too much
I think fish are more likely to catch something
At the fish store

Buying fish straight from the suppliers has always been 50/50 with death. its not always the best idea and most people don't have access to wholesalers anyway.

Age of aquariums seems to have the best quality fish in my experience. They don't run a full quarantine but they try and get the fish to eat and add some vitamins. They probably have the fish at least a couple weeks in their back room and I like that.

At a fish store you don't always know when they got the fish but always ask them to feed the fish before you buy. take your time, sit there and watch the fish to see how aggressive or healthy he is.

Coral collection dips all their fish with lugos. Everything I've bought from the? Have survived. I even bring them sick fish to treat. They don't have an overload of fish so they have much more time to take care of them properly.

Thanks for the replies. I come from the fresh water world and there are certain fish u never buy on delivery day because the weak ones die off during the first couple days upon arrival. Was wondering if any of that applies to marine fish as well. Of course I assume it would since most marine fish are wild caught.

I've never done fresh water but I think marine fish are much much more sensitive vs fresh. A lot of fresh water fish can survive with waterchange straight from the hose. Salt water fish will flop when the salinity barely changes (high or low)
