U can go with a diamond goby if u have a big tank and plenty of sand, u can also go with a goby/pistol shrimp pair. That's actually what I'll be using in my current tank, a goby/pistol shrimp, diamond goby will be too much for my small tank since my sand bed is pretty thin

I got the smallest diamond go by I could find. He sifts sand like nothing else, and I love watching him, but *everything* accumulates a layer of sand and crude now. My tank is low flow so maybe this wouldn't be an issue in high flow.

Yeah, I've always loved the goby/pistol pair... Had set in my last tank, maybe ill go for that again. I have a 50 cube with about a 1.5" sandbed.

I had a diamond goby in my 125g and he would go to town on my thick sand bed, my current tank is only 66g that's y I'm going with the yellow goby/pistol shrimp. Gonna go for a small pair Hopi g they don't make too much of a mess!!

I had a pistol shrimp and goby pair and the dam pistol shrimp would crawl on my rocks and blast off the frags I had glued down to the rock, he would take them into his den and use them to secure his walls. I would have to unbury frags almost every morning. Be careful with those suckers. More of a pest to me now.

Pistol in my Nano was a PITA! Pistol shrimp in my 66 I rarely see, but hear "shoot" throughout the night. Pretty cool. Little guys got a under ground tunnel leading to every edge of my rock work. Now if I could only get a yasha goby to survive QT I'll be stoked...2 down and scared to try another.

I think hes always in hiding because I don't have a goby to provide protection to make him feel safe.

They will stir up the sand bed for sure, I don't think they'll actually clean the sand like a diamond. I love my rainfords, tiny no mess and just cleans the very top layer of my sandbed. Cool looking too.

I really like the Tiger Watchman Goby, I recently had one that didn't make it because it turned out most of his tail was already nipped off when i got him. I wouldn't mind getting another... Anyone have experience with these?
