Its almost time to replace my Single Lense Reflectors for my retrofit Icecap T5 lights. What, in your opinion, are the best reflectors to get for 48" bulbs? I currently have IceCap reflectors but want to make sure that I have the best available.

Thank you for your recommendations.

I have Icecaps and happy with them. Just curious why are you replacing them? Are you supposed to replace them at regular intervals or did they get damaged by sw?

As far as I've heard icecap SLR are still the best retro reflectors. I try to wipe mine down about once a week to remove any salt

Not damaged, but They are starting to get sw stains that I can not remove. Also has what appears to be coraline stains as well. I have had them for over a year and just dont want to wait till the last minute to replace them. I usually try to wipe them down weekly, but sometimes I just plain forget. :)
Richard, I will check/research the TEK relectors.

When I had T5 I would remove the bulb as well as the reflector for cleaning. Do you remove them? You can add more force when its off the tank, easier to clean.

I remove them most of the time.

Nothing is really wrong with them just want to make sure that I have the best available or when ordering more that there is nothing better out there.:top:

Hey primetime i am on the same boat right now. I just got my Icecap 660.
I already have some T-5s but running off a hamilton ballast but now i can run more bulbs. My question to you is with those Icecap t-5 reflectors do you need to mount the t5 into your canopy then clip on the reflector or can i just put some small chains on the reflector and just clip it on the bulb with the endcaps. or do the endcaps need to be fastened into the canopy securely. I am a little confussed on that. if possible can you explain or show me a pictures of your setup thanks.

I have the the risers mounted/screwed into the canopy. The endcaps then "snap" into the risers. The reflectors clip onto the bulbs themselves. I can post pictures later if you need more clarification. I am at work now so let me know via pm or post. By the way.. I am staying with IceCap reflectors.
