Regulators!

D,

Just use paper towels to wipe off the residue when you take the regulator apart. There will be some oRings and a spring just wipe off as much of the residue as possible. It will look like a blackish residue. This is because they add additives to Co2 to give it a more stable shelf life. When you take the regulator apart you will also probably notice that they have some type of lubricant in it. This is to prevent the spring or orings from sticking or tearing. You will need to wipe that off as well and replace it. You can probably find a paintball shop take the regulator to them and have them grease it up for you. Some may even put the regulator back together. It is very common for the pressure gauges to go bad as well, they are usually about 10 or 15 dollars. Might be worth replacing, but that is up to you?

How do i know all this? I managed a chain of paintball stores for 5 years and dealt with Co2 and regulators on a daily basis.

Hope this helps!
