Will after about 5 months of searching i finally closed the deal on a house. Have so much work to do on this house its not even funny, but its alot of fun watching all my $$$ go on other stuff other than fish (NOT).

So i will be moving my tank to the new place in a day or so. i have moved a 100 gal tank b4 no problem. the only real problem moving this 360 is all the water. But i just have to buy more trash cans i guess. Also i plan on washing my sand bed. the sand itself is only 9 months old. The rock i was thinking of place them in a bed with water so that i dont lose to much life on it. pluming i think i did a ok job myself, but going to see if anyone is willing to come out and help. If i dont get any help ill just do it again. Also am super happy about setting up the tank agian because this time i can put my t5/led hybrid :).

also with this move i want to setup my old 100 as a QT. was thinking of taking 140 gal ( with sump) of my old display water and using it. The main reason why i ask is because, i plan on ordering a large number of fish. If some of you can remember i did not so long ago, but ended up losing all the fish. now my display tank has 8 fish in it for about 9 month. do you guys think, by using my somewhat seasoned display water i can get away with adding 15 fish??

If anyone has anything to add to this list please feel free to speak.

Thank you :dirol:

Don't add 15 fish at once. Your asking for a disaster. Maybe 2 a month. You have to give your system time to stabilize I between adding fish. Also will give you time to watch your nitrates and phosphates as you will be feeding more they will go up no doubt. Remember, patience is key to reef success!

If you post up the actual move date, city and time. More people free that day will show up and or people who like tank moves. Also start a fresh new thread for it.

If your going to setup the 100g as a QT with DT water. You should go 50/50 , bottle of bac, and the kicker is either use our DT sock, sponge, ceramics, to seed it. Get your self a visual ammonia badge from seachm. Let it run a day with your fish, next day toss in a pinch of food and pay attention to ammonia, no change in the coloratiion then repeat the following day.. After that your should be go to go, but first for bout a week or so before you start running...GL with the moven tooo...btw, what ever happen to the 150g you bought from me...didn't see the build thread...

I would say track down a bottle of Dr. tims bacteria and add 50 percent of your old tank water and you will be good... I have done this many times with moves due to the military, very successful! Make sure you address any problems that your old tank had! Also, have a good amount of extra rodi water made (in the garage or somewhere) at the new house. It seems like these moves require more water then we plan on!
P.S. use heaters in your coral buckets, this colder weather will fluctuate small bodies of water fast!

These have wheels and you can roll your rock/coral/water and have your apex monitor the temp! GOOD LUCk, Cant wait to see pics!

so after putting in many hrs on the house we are almost done with the house. Its not easy when there is only 2 ppl working on this house.

I liked what Danny said about addressing any problems from my tank b4 I make the move. I think I have 3 problems.

1. amount of water passing through my sump from chamber to chamber is way to fast. there a great deal of micro bubbles in my dt tank. I have tried putting sponages to slow it down, but than theres way to much water build up in my sump. filter sock is something I don't really like to use. so am willing to try anything to solve this small problem.

2. what size heater so should I get for my tank. total water volume is 360. right now am running on 300W eheim heater.

3. does anyone know a link or anything of that matter, where I can go and check out some pluming done right?

am going to try to move the tank on sunday. should be 100% done with everything in the house by Thursday. I will keep updating this thread for the ppl who can come out and help.

Thank you

Are you using a controller? I would use two heaters on a controller that way you have a backup if one goes bad! Post pics of your setup any people on here can help you out with your plumbing ideas...
