My Mandarin Dragonet eats frozen mysis, and brine shrimp. This morning he bit off more than he can chew and a long stringy part is still hangin out of his mouth, he seems unable to swallow it all or bite it off.

..My question is should I try to catch him and pull it off? or just leave him be. He has been like this for a couple hours now, just worried it will effect his eating or breathing.

That looks annoying! Do you have a cleaner shrimp? If so hopefully he's not on strike! I would leave it a while, you don't want to stress him unless you have to..Some other fish will likely pull it off, or he may regurgitate it. Maybe tomoro I would try and use a syringe or baster and suction it off. Maybe someone else has had this happen and will chime in.. Good luck tho

Yup consider yourself lucky that you're one of the few with a mandarin that eats prepared foods. Too cool.
