I just finish upgrading my tank and my LFS transported all the fish and coral. After completing the work, he said that maybe I should not of used Black PVC pipe for the drain area because of the fact that over time they give off chemical that is not reef safe. I purchase 1.5 in black connector and pipe at homedepot. It is primary used for sink drain. I like it because it was black and it went well inside the stand. Has anyone used black PVC pipe and is it dangerous for reef tanks????

Any and every advice is welcome. Especially personal experience.

Do you have black PVC pipes? Also do you need special bonding agents for them? I just used the regular prime and blue sealant. Heard from someone these Black PVC pipes need special kind of glue.

No worries , black abs pipe is fine
