Hey guys, so I picked up a GBTA and I am pretty sure its bleached!!! It's sort of closed right now, so I can't tell if its mouth is open. How do I nurse it back to health? Any help is appreciated!!

He bud, nems dont bleach as far as I know. They just inflate/deflate. What are your water perms?how often are you feeding it and what are ya feeding it. Lastly what lights are you running and where is it sitting in your tank?

They prob don't... But im pretty sure its color is off from what it's supposed to. The colors of a normal GBTA look different. However, all the GBTA at the shop looked like this, so I wasn't really concerned till I looked at pics... Ammonia:0 Nitrite:0 Nitrate >10. I got it today so I haven't fed it yet. I'm running Led lights (buildmyled 1 14000K lights) and its sitting around 1/3 of the tank

Many nems will lose color or look less bright in home aquaria over a period of time. I bought a used nem that was in a reefer tank for over a year and it's color still changed, less vibrant, in my tank after 6 months

I like the color that it has now, but my main concern is whether or not it will survive and if it can live with just light in the state that it is in now... I'd rather not supplement feed, but I will if I have to

I really should get myself a trace element test kit... Lol. I don't have the test kit, so idk. As I said, I only introduced it today, so I hope it'll get better and perhaps become even more neon green.

Yes your anemone is bleached. It has lost all its zooxanthellae. The only way to bring it back is to keep water conditions optimal and make sure you have decent lighting.

Otherwise it doesn't look too bad. Don't let it starve to death while it doesn't have any zooxanthellae. You can raise a clown anemone from the size of a dime to the size of a dinner plate on just natural sunlight, but once it has lost its zooxanthellae it has no source of energy other than supplemental feeding.

Yes Nem's do bleach in color... keep the water clean, and if it is sensitive to light you may want to ramp them down and then slowly bring them up. Once you see improvement, you can start feeding mysis. That's how I do it
