We have bounce mushrooms and bounce chalices...is this the next big bounce craze? Introducing Aussie bounce live rock lol. Jk..but does anyone know what kind of macro this is? It's bronze in color and been growing quickly. Started as a marble size and now golf ball size. Btw, it feels like a softer version of a ping pong ball.

Yup you nailed it. White banded possum. Love the white streak through the eyes.
Been toying with the idea of an albofasciata. Favorite of the three. I don't know how it will do with my two pinkies, pencil wrasse, exquisite fairy wrasse, and leopard wrasse. They are all peaceful, but not sure what they will do with a less assertive new guy.

If you decide to get it, I have a small acclimation station you can borrow.

I've seen this algae before, but it was in the 90's the last time I saw it. Let me check out some of my books, I might have a note written down.

No luck with my notes, but from memory, some thought it was a sponge, but as I recall there are no openings and it felt like cheap plastic in your hands. This stuff gets big, I remember pulling it off of live rock and it was larger than my palm, almost covered my entire hand. It develops into large wavy, crinkle-like formations, mostly flat, but with some raised areas. I don’t remember if any fish ate it or not, but I think we just pulled it off and threw it away when we sold the live rock it was attached to. Think of it as a 3 dimensional brown ulva. I’m pretty sure it was found on both Fiji and Marshall Island rock. But I’ll keep searching for a species name. I thought it could’ve been a valonia species, but I don’t think that’s right?

You nailed it! No openings and it does feel like soft cheap plastic and it is growing super fast on my hob overflow along with ulva lactuca. Must have come in as a hitchhiker on the aussie live rock that I used to set up this tank almost 10 months ago.
