I got this mushroom from a random mushroom rock I had in my sump. I thought it looked kinda cool cus it was purple with little white dots. Now its gritting these wart looking bumps on it and they seem to be growing as the mushroom regains its health. What do you guys think?
That doesn't look like a rhodactis to me. The bubbles and edges don't resemble them. First pic does actually look kinda like a rhodactis but the second doesn't in my opinion.
I'm sure they are difference species just generally called St. Thomas shrooms when they are collected from that area.
Although I do agree with you, some have rounded bubbles, some have what I call bull horn bubbles, and some have bubbles and frillies if that's even a word haha
The rock had your typical purple and red mushrooms. I nursed them all to health but this was the only cool looking one. Its not a ricordea. I have lots of those
Take your pic doesn't look like a Yuma or a Florida.
That's an older pic of it. Sorry my phone sucks at taking pictures.
yeah lol, was messing around. No one knows for sure what kind of shroom the bounce is. Theres a lot of speculation, but no definite answer. If anyone figured out where they come from or what makes them bubble they'd be a millionaire lol. Bounce's have been out for like 5 years from what i understand, and i've never seen a flood of them come in. I dont know if they are like a freak of nature or what but they are pretty rare. Dnov99 on r2r has the best bounce i've ever seen, check it out http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/corallimorpharians/167882-wwc-bounce-mushroom.html
Haha nah Matt they're kind of a pain to be honest. The yumas will be cool one day and then shrink to nothing the next. Then they sometimes fall off and I have to reattach them to a little rubble piece (which takes about a week because you can't glue them) and then glue the rubble back on the rock.
