Just bought a new rw-20 yesterday and even though it says it can be turned down to 660 gph it is still way to powerful for my 60g tank. I mean unbelievably powerful. I wanted to get a rw-8 but they where out of stock. Anybody want to trade or buy this off me before i ship it back? Or maybe know of a way to make it work for me?

Center it more or less on either the left or the right and angle it towards the top. If that's still too much it might just be too powerful for your tank

Even closer to the bottom facing up with it on lowest setting it still causes a sand storm. Ive messed with alot of different positions with all giving me the same effect. My powerhead i have now is rated at 800gph and it is nowhere near close to as powerful as this thing is in low setting.

Hoping i can sell it or trade it. If not i will just pay the return shipping. Or just hold onto it for a future tank. It was only 85$. Shame, cause for being a cheap brand it seems pretty nice (besides the power). Definitely meant for a 180g+ tank.

Even for my 3 ft 50 gal tank, I turn down the rw-8 to the 3rd lowest setting out of 10 or so levels.

Yeah, i think i am going to buy the rw8 and either sell this or hold onto it for my 55 long. Even on low i fear it may be too much for a tank 48" long. Was hoping somebody bought a rw 8 or somethung comparable to it that wanted to trade up to a larger powerhead. sont want to pay shipping and restocking fee to send it back.

I have 2 rw8 in my 66, even one was too much for my tank at the lowest setting without counter flow. If u can afford to get 2 of them u should!! Try the W1 setting, that's the lowest setting rw pumps have, that might help a bit. All the other options blow my sand everywhere

I just put an rp20 on a 300 gallon. It's 8 feet long and makes the water move almost the entire length of the tank. I'm thinking about putting one more on the other side. Do you know if they sell the pump without the controller?

Is that similar to the wp60?
