Brightwell aquatics salt vs dd h20

Thinking about mixing my own salt, which is better from the two from your experience??

Can't chime in on both but DD mixes well. Lived it in my smaller tank but it's just too pricey for me. Switched to reef crystals (too high of alk) then red Sea regular (blue bucket) and now instant ocean. I noticed no difference in my coral health with any of them. Only 100g into IO but the others I ran 400+ gallons of straight. So far my tank looks the same with IO at a cheaper price point. Also easy to find in an emergency.

Well the perks of pricier salt mixes is that you dont really have to supplement any trace minerals or does it not really make a difference?? Do you supplement anything other than cal and alk?

I have been using the Brightwell NeoMarine salt for over three years now with my sps tank. It dissolves fast and no residue after. Both are good salts and pricy...you cannot go wrong with either salt, imo!

Bottom line is that it is just salt! It's really not a factor that will make or break you system. Proven results can be found using them all!

Not really. you can buy Reef Crystals which is pretty high on the big 3 (Ca/Alk/Mg). I think you may get more consistent levels with more expensive salts.

i used both don't like bright well mixes murky. DND leave stuff on the container for me. so i am using instant ocean. but if i had to pick from the 2 DND

I think this is an apples to oranges comparison. This is just my opinion but DD has high alk and is more comparable to RSCP whereas Brightwell has lower alk and is more in line with Tropic Marin. So depends what you want out of your salt. If you run nutrient rich then I'd say give DD a try. If you have 0 nitrates and undetectable phosphates, and dose or run a CA reactor then Brightwell might be a better option. just my .02 cents
