Does anyone use Brightwell MicroBacter7 in their established reef? If so how often and what amount do you use? Thx in advance

I dont have any algae growth on rocks or any place in tank but on a few on my corals seems over take like montes I was told it would take some of nutrients out of water

What are your numbers as well as the age of your tank?

Tank has been up for about 8 months it was transferred from tank that was up a couple years. Cal 458 alk is 11 a little up had some thg go wrong with dosed mag is 1450 it says I have 0 phosphate with Hanna checker. I have no cyno or any other algae issue with exception of frags when I put in tank they get algae on them. I have 3 hydra 52 that run at 80% at max and 4 t5 that are on for 6 hours. The tank is 30 deep

If you have no waste, then the Brightwell wont help much. But it also wont hurt. Most likely you just have to be patient and stay on top of your water chemistry.

I've been using every week with a water change for years. I don't measure, I just squirt some in.

I drop cap worth in my over flow once a week or so for my bio pellets.
If you add to much, and dont have a big enough skimmer and or do water changes, youll deal with some bacteria build up. But it certainly isnt as potent as some of the other bacteria in a bottle

So its a 240 I dont do water changes and have a big skimmer so maybe once a month?

It all depends on how much. Just keep an eye on bacteria build up, and if it happens just lay off. A 240gal should take a lot without any issues. You can probably dose 10ml a week no problem.

Are there any signs of stress on the coral before the algae takes over?
