So I decided to get serious about my tank.
I just finished tackling my algae problem and decide to see what colors my SPS are.
I currently have a wide variety of brown .
I have a ph swing of .3 -.4
Temp swing of 1 degree

I took pics of my corals and gonna start dosing
Calcium
Magnesium
Soda Ash
Potassium
And iron

Here is my current #s

Nitrite 0
Phosphates 0

Calcium 362

Dkh 4 <~~~~ Tested with a Hanna and I didn't believe it. So I confirmed with a drip test.

I haven't measured my mag yet. I gotta look for the kit. If I don't see the calcium move I will max dose.

Today I dosed full calcium, Mag and Soda Ash
I should be good on my DKH in 4 days

Max dosing Alk and Calcium for the last 3 days
Alk went from 4 to 5.5
Calcium went from 360 to 332

Boosting the calcium intake and adjusting my water volume to 100g on the bulk reef supply calculator

Did you end up checking your mag? If your mag is too low I believe your cal will precipitate instead of mixing into water.

You are on the right track. Seems like your mag could be on the lower range by how the cal tested at. Check mag and go from there.

Wouldnt it be safer and start doing decent size water changes every few days with a solid salt mix? Maybe 20% every 2-3 days. That'll be 100% turnover 10+ days and replenish trace elements.
