Hi Everyone,

I found what looks like a bristleworm this morning.
But this thing was at least 6 inches long and pretty plump.
Should I be worried what this guy or should I just leave him alone.

If they get that big I tend to take them out. They could potentially eat a sleeping fish.

Yes that's definitely a bristle worm. I have had tons of those for years in my original 50g, even ones longer than 6 inches. They tend to scavenge at night and a lot of people consider them to be harmless and part of their clean up crew. I of course tried to throw away whichever ones I could catch but their numbers and my laziness won out. So nothing really to worry about.

i have 4 huge ones in my tank... i don't have sand so i see them all the time coming out and eat.... they have never harmed a fish or coral... so i let them stay... smaller worms that don't get eaten by the wrasse or sucked out during waterchanges get tossed out...
