I just lost 2 clownfish (one Onyx and one True Percula) to Brooklynella.

Did anyone ever go brooklynella? That thing hit so far, even worse than ick.

I don't know where I got it from.

So far, my blue tang and yellow tang seems fine and unaffected.

Will they get it too?

If its brook they may but its mainly a clown disease. Keep a good eye on the tangs cuz who knows what else the clowns brought in. Sorry for the loss

All the fish can be affected by brook. Keep an eye out but might wanna set up a hospital tank and treat what's left. Brook kills fast

Sorry to hear. I have never had experience with Brook but I do believe it is clownfish specific. Not 100% sure though.
Another guy on here, djam, recently lost 2 clowns as well but he doesn't know what caused the death. I was suspecting Brook as the culprit myself. Sounds like it may be going around.

Edit: pgr11 is right. Brook does kill FAST. What have you added new in the last couple weeks?

Ive had it in one of my tanks, but it only got my clowns. I would hold off on adding clowns for a while. That stuff will hang around in your tank.

From what I read Brook is very aggressive in clowns, I think it is possible what killed mine. I spoke to another buddy of mine and he lost a new clown last week too, maybe it is from the same wholesaler?

I noticed it a couple of days after adding the onyx. At first it was just losing color but then comes the slime on the body then the cloudy eyes. I removed the clown and put it in a quarantine tank with formalin but he did not survive. Now I keep checking on the tangs and so far so good and they are still eating like pigs. It is so much faster than ich. I had ich in the past and beat it but brook hit and kill within 24-48 hours. Good thing I did not buy the snowflake clown I wanted at max. Poor thing would have been affected too.

you can dip the fish in a quick cure solution since clowns do not like to be fresh water dipped I have a reciepe for that solution p m if you need it if you have any other fish in the tank create a dip using quick cure and salt water use a air pump to aerate the water
