Going to turn my BRS GFO reactor into BP'S for my new build. I have been searching for this info but all are several years old. Who is running BRS' s and opinions? Does it really matter which ones? Are BP's the same?

I am on the fence about ordering it from BRS. I use their dosing pumps and supplements and have been happy. Hopefully we'll hear from some who have used both before putting in my order next week. :)

I use BRS pellets with their smaller reactor. They seem to be doing the trick but I heard ecobak is the way to go. Once I run out of the BRS I'm going order some ecobak. Proper flow is everything! They can clump, so soak them over night. You'll also get a cloudy bacteria bloom for about 3 days but that's normal. The bacteria is eating. I think it takes about 6-8 weeks to really see the difference in nitrates but I'm not quite there yet.

If you dose half for the first month you skip the bloom, I never had cloudiness. My nitrates were at 40 now 2-5. I feed a LOT and have done 1 20% wc in 3 months :)

I use a via aqua poly reactor with a maxi jet 1200 and TLF pellets. The maxi jet gives me good flow, but the reactor isn't the best, does clump if not cleaned. I am going to upgrade it soon. I also seeded with bactiv8 npx

I have the brs bp reactor on my tank right now and its a pos. It clumps all of the time. As the pellets wear down they just stick right to the strainer and slow the flow down. Its just not really made for bp. If I had the money I would go with cadlights or something. On another note, I havent noticed any reduction in nitrates. I went through the brs pellets thwn switched to vertex and still no luck. The whole thing is coming out next week.
