How to I get it back? It seems healthy, it found a nice hole recently and sprouts up and down at night but it lost its color and bubbles. Should I host it with clowns? will that make it better? I don't know what to do.

I try to feed it but it doesn't really grab onto anything, are mysis ok? I usually just squirt a mysis or 2 into its mouth.

I'm far from an anemone expert. But my experience with BTAs is that a lot of them seem to lose their bubble tips in home aquariums. I'm not sure about the color loss though. I fed mine once or twice a week and would either do as you did and slowly feed a couple mysis, or use raw shrimp that I would just cut up a couple small pieces of. I just held it close to the tentacles so it could grab it.

What kind of lights are you running? How old are they? What are the perimeters in your tank? Like no3, po4, salinity. All of these will make a difference in a nems health.

I have a Odyssea MH/T5 18" Pendant setup, but the bulbs are probably over a year old. I was just researching a new lighting system since I would be spending quite a bit on replacement bulbs, and I can avoid the heat from the MH. I will go get the water tested tomorrow, what params should I be aiming for to get him back up and healthy?

I've never seen a bubble nem actually keep its bubble tips...I've had a lot of bubble nems, and they were super healthy and rarely did they actually have bubble tips. About The color loss, im not sure I can help.

All my nem held there bubbles and had them for over 2 years

This is what my perimeters were

Alk/dkh: was inbetween 8.7 and 9.2
Cal: was in inbetween 390 and 440
Mag: was pretty much always @ 1340
No3: always @ 0.00
Po4: always around 0.08
Salinity: 1.24

My nem were always super happy befor the tank crashed and actually the nems and the fish r really the only things that survived the tank crash.

Now the on to ur light my thought is it is kinda on the old side not super old but it may be the reason ur nem is loosing color. Nems need light and a lot of it to keep there color. And after so long a MH bulb and T5 bulb will loose some of there intensity.

Now for changing ur lights I'm not to sure about that. But yet I've only had nems under MHs so I couldn't tell you how well they do under all T5 or all LEDs. But my nems were under two 250 watt MHs and one ecotech radion in the middle.

Pic 2 is what mine normally would look like. Pic 1 was not common for my nems.

So my ph and alk are low and nitrates are high right now, going to buffer and change the water tonight. Also I was told that it might be light shock, I picked it up from vivid but I'm not sure what they use for lighting, and I have the MH/T5 combo.

I've had a bta almost die once but luckily I caught it in time. It shrunk down and almost completely bleached out. I fixed my params and started feeding it anything and everything as often as possible. It took almost two months but it finally came back. I also notice that my btas have and keep bubble tips when they are under 4" but once they start to get bigger the tentacles elongate and the color shifts as well.
