Any suggestions for extremely hardy fish? I'm apparently horrible at keeping clownfish alive, and from my understanding, they're on the hardy side. Any other sturdy reef-safe fish out there that'll get along with my cleaner shrimp?

Bud if ya can't keep clowns alive on a routine basis there is a problem somewhere. Maybe its where you are buying them from maybe it's your water perms but I don't think there is anything hardier than a clown.

Quarantine. I've killed a bunch of pairs until my recent ones, all to ich or something months after purchasing them. Other than that make sure nothing mechanical like pumps, overflows, or jumping out kills them.

Clowns are about as hardy as it gets. I like firefish also. Pygmy angels are nice. Pretty much anything readily available and that eats pellets should live long

There is no bullet proof fish, except the man made ones, made out of metal. I would take it slow and buy easy to keep USED fish fish from hobbyists here :)

+1 if clowns keep dying there's something wrong!! I use to have a tank a while back when I first started reefing which could not keep any fish alive to save my life!! It does happen, but u need to figure out what's killing them. Clowns are from the damsel family I believe and are about as hardy as you can get with fish

Is there anything in particular I should be testing for? I monitor ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and salinity regularly

U need to provide us with info so we can help u out bit more. Tank size, equipment, etc. what are the parameters u test at? As much info as u can provide, there has to be something wrong if they survive qt and die in ur DT

10 gallon tank
About 12 pounds of live rock
Small diy HOB refugium with Chaeto
Koralia nano

Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates <5
Salinity 1.024
Temp 78, sometimes swings to 79

Been up for about 4 months, corals are looking pretty happy.

As for stocking history:
-1st clown added right after cycling w/o QT, died about 3 days after. I'm thinking it was because of a Powerhead malfunction - my old one used to randomly start sucking in water instead of moving it outward
- clowns 2 and 3 were added a week later, no QT. First clown came down with Brooklynella and infected the other, those were both gone within 4 days. I had an 8 week fallow period before I bought my second pair to QT
-2nd pair was QTed for 3 weeks, they did well enough that I felt they didn't need the 4th week and added them to DT. First clown didn't last the day, the second lasted a few more days
-cleaner shrimp is the only survivor in my tank of death

I'm pretty sure the powerhead did not kill the clown, it was most likely same thing that killed the others. What about your PH?

if you can feed them, seahorses are very hardy fish... i've seen some go carpet surfing, DIE, then start swimming again the next day... LOL...jaskdlfjasl;dfjasl;fdjaslfjaslkgfjasklgjasdlfjaslfjaslfj;asdf

oh man...

but honestly, i think clowns are pretty hardy in the fish world... aside for cheap blue damsels and stuff like that... i have never lost a clown quickly like a butterflyfish or powder blue tang...

Perhaps its where you're buying the fish? Ex. Tongs....
I got the first 3 from EA, and the last pair from a friend of a friend that breeds them. In hindsight, I should have QTed the first 3, but I'm still really confused how the ones I did QT didn't do any better.
