It’s only the sales of them. If you already one any gas powered thing you’ll still be able to use it. Plenty of them always for sale on CL, OU, FB, Nextdoor.
The first time they banned gas powered tools was blowers only because of the noise, dust.
But I think the ACLU represented the mow n blow guys and the need for their jobs.
Was a nice few weeks of them sweeping up the neighbors cuttings instead of blowing them into others. Biggest reason no one has a nice yard anymore, they blow the clippings and seeds into the yards of others. Resodding isn’t worth it anymore, you’ll have Bermuda and St. Augustine in a couple of months.

Out with small repairable engines. in with ryobi battery and charger filled dumps being manufactured with little to no emission laws in China. All those sweet kw being burned right at peak hours, ahhhhhh cha-ching. Wonder how much it'll cost to get a lawn mowed in 2024.

What are contractors going to do pre-power on site?

They just banned the sale not the use… for now. We can still go to Arizona or Nevada and buy them there… or TJ

True but just like when ca ban the sales of animals that weren’t breed by a licensed breeder at local pet stops. The prices of said animals went up by 300%. A bunny use to cost $30 a pet shop now the go for $300.

A $1000 generator is now going to sell for the price of a car.

Is California REALLY trying to make people vacate its state LOL. I work in the RV/Trailer industry and this is going to piss a lot of owners off. Even the law makers that also own one of these recreation units. I understand that it's only the sales and not the use but what's next? The ban of parts to service these units? You tell these Glamis heads with toy haulers that they can't repair or purchase a power source when they are out in the desert riding and you will have plenty of unhappy campers. Not just Rver's but plenty of people use Generators as backups for different uses. Not to mention small gas powered engines are used in a wide variety of applications. Wow next thing you know there will be a black market for gasoline powered cars. California is REALLY starting to suck!! Just my vent for today...

Yeah we use generators in our mobile vans for work, so we were pretty worried when we first heard about it. Most of those for commercial use have catalytic converters in them now though. RV in CA will probably have to install those going forward.

They wont' need to halt the sale of parts because we can't get the damn things anyway, lol. Scary though, we usually have a backup on hand for emergency failures and I was told we can't get a gas GC generator until feb-march next year (this was 3 months ago too) and that we were lucky because we would be lucky to see one by summer '22 from Onan had we gone diesel.

10/4 on getting parts right now. I know lol Right?? Starting In 2017 All new generators that are sold in this state had to be C.A.R.B. compliant. The Onan/Cummings units that are in a majority on Rec vehicles have EVAP (Fuel vapor containment) but no Catalytic converter. This law I take it to mean "ALL" Gas units compliant or not. I could be wrong but I believe it won't be long before someone takes this matter to California Supreme Court. Don't forget this not only effects us but lawmakers on the other side of the fence That are saying "WTF just happened" the hell I can't buy a generator next year...

Just one more step closer to communist California.

If I was a gambling man I bet big battery was lining California politicians pockets
You know how it goes. They ban gas gens but the new ones they approve that runs on unicorn piss (and Cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$ a gallon because it's a special california summer, winter, valentines day blend!) and the gen cost WAIT FOR IT.....
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on sale with a 5% discount for a limited time only.... Break out those wallets and they will supply the lube or not...

Scary thought. Hey guys, since we went 0 emissions we can’t fix our roads off gas tax anymore. We will now be putting a road tax all all electric utility companies.
