I was thinking about hosting a backyard frag swap/ swap meet.

I’m located in Perris CA. 92571

So if this is happening let’s get some ground rules out of the way. My number 1 rule is I will not supply alcohol and if you do decide to BYOB then please be respectful and don’t go over board. If someone has had a little to much sauce there more then welcome to hang out as long as it take for them to be safe. Me and the miss have lost family members to drunk
drivers see do not endorse it.

Second is the COVID issue. If your afraid and don’t think being around local reefs is safe for you then please stay home. I and my entire family is vaccinated. If you are not vaccinated then please wear your mask. I’m not going to be checking vac cards. So like, Disneyland we will go off the honor system. If you sick and or have tested positive please stay home. Please don’t shame the rest of use for wanting to live our life’s.

Third isn’t really a rule but more of a warning. I have 2 Siberian huskies do if you have dog allergies then this may be a problem for you.

Four isn’t a rule but more of a FYI my neighbor is HOA and we do have security so I suggest you do not park in red zones. I’ve been tickets for parking on the side of my house while we were moving in. I was there for maybe 10 min while moving cars around and security got me. I live on a corner lot and about 100feet behind my house is baseball fields with plenty of parking.

Now for the planning. I can get a few tables and chairs. I’ll try to see if I can get a large frag tank to use as a community frag tank. But if your wanting to sell and have a small frag tank or tank then I do encourage you to bring it. I should have plenty of extensions cords but if you have a lot of things like lights, pumps, heaters….. to plug in, then I suggest you bring a power strip.
I should be able to supply around 200g of salt water. So if salt water is needed it will be on a first come first serve basis.

Also for the swap meet part I was thinking if you want to bring old equipment that you would like to sell then your more then welcome. I’ll setup a table or spot for used equipment. We all know people are more in likely to purchase something that is sitting right in front of them that they can put there hands on. I just suggest you put your name and cell of a piece of tape so the buyer knows who to contact if they want to buy a piece of equipment.

Now for food, do people want to bring food like a potluck?
Or I could set up my grill and have someone cook burgers and dogs? Or maybe a taco guy?(depending on the cost and if people are willing to buy there plates)

Now we know, no one going to show up unless there’s a kick ass raffle. So I’d like to purchase some equipment and things. Maybe even some life stock. Then I’ll take the money back that I spent on raffle items from the raffle earning and all profits will be donated to a local food bank sense the holidays will be right around the corner. Does anyone have any problems with this plan?

Did you have an estimate time frame in mind? And I’d love tacos I wouldn’t mind pitching in for tacos. It would be best to have a head count to confirm those that are going and for flakes to not flake. Maybe donate 5 bucks to reserve for the taco guy and have head count this will weed out last min flakes

how much are raffle tickets and do i have to be present to win :)
I’m not sure man. I need to price out a taco guy. I’m kinda hoping the raffle will cover all the costs for food, raffle tickets, water, and prizes. If I can get a lot of interest and I can get quite a few people to show then I’d imagine the tickets could be like a buck. But it all depends. If people don’t care about a taco guy and want to do like pizza that that’s pretty cheap. I just don’t wanna drop a $1000 on this and like 10 people show and I raffle off a few items off for a $100 worth of ticket, you know.

I would expect for you to stay to win but I would say write you name and cell on the ticket so I know who to contact.

I’m all honest I need to get in touch with IEMAS to see how they do things. I need to know if I’ll get sued or something for putting on a raffle at my house.

Hey guys/gals, I’d like to find out if any of you sellers out there would like to sign up for a spot to sell. I personally don’t have stuff for sale but would like to see if they guys/gals that have been growing out would like to kinda register for a spot to sell. It would be free. Im just trying to get an idea of how many tables I need to rent/get. I can supply about 20g of freshly made reef crystals (depending on how many people wanna sell) i have a few extra extension cords and can supply a few people with them. But you would need to have your own tank, light, pump, and heaters.

So if your interested in selling at the event please pm your info.

In all honesty guys the coral vendors would be the biggest part of this happening. If I can’t get anyone wanting to sell corals then this would be a glorified reef club meeting.

So if you guys/gals what this to happen please let anyone that is a frag farmer know about this event and if they want to join in have them pm me or here’s my cell they can text me 9097059918

So I’m going to have to cancel this guys. Like a said I don’t have a lot of corals to sale, so I was hoping to get a few hobbies wanting to setup a frag tank to sale from. I’ve posted this event on most the SoCal places us hobbies chat and I’ve asked if anyone wanted to sale. I’ve not got anyone willing to sale. That means no corals so no event. I thought maybe some of the ie people would have wanted a meetup. But I guess not.

Perris is way far bro.....I think that was it. Most of reefers are in OC area that I knew of.
We'll try again next year.
“To far” that what a bitch says.

I’ve meet quite I few of the ie peps and I know there around. This I why I said let’s get something going ie peps.

I know o to well that most of those bitch ass oc & la people claim to be all high and mighty but at the end of the day there nails aren’t to long and there ass are to soft to drive an hour out the way.

It also could be I do come off a bit of a dick. But never the less I gave the tv to my parents and called it a day.
