I'm going to guess Acanthurus nigrofuscus and Acanthurus dussumieri.

The first one is a ''Spotted cheek tang'' or ''Acanthurus maculiceps". The second one is a ''Acanthurus Dussemieri''.

I have the first one and very pricey if vendor knows what is. I have gotten one for $25 juvi because when they come in they are stressed and dark but once they acclimate to it's environment they color up nicely.

Btw the dussemier tangs we saw in Maui were over 14" tall

A 40 gallon tank is way to small for even one of those fish. My guess is that they would need at least a 100 gallon for just one juvenile.

Many of the surgeon fish get very big. My spotted cheek was 3" when I got it now a year later he is 4.5" so has grown but I don't feel it has been fast. When he gets bigger I will get tank to acomadate it.
