Ok my niece saw me put carbon in a media bag in my filter sock the other day, when I got home my water was really dark so I come to find out my niece put carbon in the sump just like that because she wanted to help her tio with the fishies (shes only 5) so I took all tue carbon out the sump but water is still dark from the powder it releases!! My question is will it affect my tank??? Should I do a water change??

No just remove carbon from sock and use the filter sock only. I did that with a grande sized bag of chemi pure (forgot to rinse the bag lol). Tank turned super dark. Put a sock in and had to was it it like 10 times but it cleared in 24 hours. Glad your niece likes your tank cause my 4 yo is the same way hahaha. She wakes up with flash light in hand to explore the tank while the lights are still off :8party:

hmm...

it will only cause as much harm as a small sand storm... eventually, it will settle down, and you'll have some black chunks on your sand... eventually, it will deteriorate in your DT...

That's good to hear! I'm always worried about the carbon dust getting in my tank and stressing my fish and corals but I guess it's ok :happy (2):
