So I noticed the center brace on my eurobraced 300 is separating away from from the main glass. I don't know when it happened but the bubble is about 3.5 inches on a 18 inch brace but it got larger over the last few months. I talked to a lfs owner and he mentioned that I can just add a 2-3 inch wide piece of half inch glass under the current brace (so in essence I would have 2 braces on the front glass w silicone connecting the top brace and front glass to the new piece.

The other option is to razor the silicone out between the brace and glass as much as I can and resilicone w black silicone. This is better looking but also more work and more possibility that I won't get all of it out since I don't want to pull the back glass silicone out .
Tank dimensions are 96/32/23 and I bought it used so I don't know the age of it. It's made by leemar

I'm a glazier ( architectural metal and glass) and in my opinion, I would cut both and remove all the silicone and recaulk it. It's more pleasing to the eye that way rather than having two braces.

I defiantly wouldn't cut any of the center braces off while the tank is filled. Your best bet while full is to sand which it like you mentioned in your post.

Yeah I forgot to mention that part you can't have water in the tank when you cut it off

i def wont be doing it w/ a full tank but maybe half. I REALLY want to avoid cutting off the back as i dont have good access to that area (its close to the wall) and the tank is deep so its next to impossible to have a good spot to work with. I could just cut the front and pull the brace up enough to get a nice bead of silicone in there and place it back. The other option is as mentioned to just run another piece of glass under it (not the whole way but more of a 1 x 18 x 1/2 and silicone to the top and front glass. If i DIY it, I probably will do that but I wanted to see if I can get a pro to do it right w/ just the brace without the extra glass before DIY. Either way I plan on using harbor freight clamp or two to hold the glass while working on it.

If you use a metal clamp, make sure there is plastic or wood or rubber between the clamp and the glass. Depending on where you are located I could do it for you

Can't really tell from the picture, but is that center "brace" just to hold glass lids? Typically if a tank is eurobraced, that's all the bracing its gonna need.

Center brace goes directly from front glass to back glass preventing bowing. The other rest of the bracing in the front and the back goes up to it but not under / over it.
