I am starting to look into getting a camera but which one i would like to take pics of my tank coral and i go to alot of car shows i would like something i can pretty much use anywhere and have great pictures i have been looking at cannons and nikon cameras but what is the difference and what would be the best place to get one also my limit is around $500 any inputs would help thanks

Canon or Nixon what ever floats you boat. I have a canon xti and it does the job for what it is. I was told when I was looking to buy that the body's are basically disposable and to put all my money on the lense hth.

I myself got a 2nd hand Canon for $350 from the canon forum a while back, it does the job

There's a deal right now for a Pentax K-x camera for about $500... the camera's got good reviews too
