Clown breeding experiment

So I'm setting up a little breeding system a 20 long split in two to handle 2 pairs, a culture of rotifers, and some TDO food for after the rots.
I planned on picking up a pair of black and whites from coral collection but it turns out my clown seems to be holding eggs so I'll give these a shot first before spending a good amount on a pair.

And their pot that hopefully they lay in

From people I've talked to she's at least 6 days away from laying but as it gets closer I will know but she's gotten huge in just 2 or 3 days.
I'll update as I get things going.

Awesome!! Good luck.. I have a pair of clowns that lay eggs every 10-14 days back to back to back... I have never seen them hatch.

They've been laying constantly for 3-4 months now...

They are probably all eaten or sucked in the powerheads and such before the lights even come on.

I heard that they usually hatch 30 mins after lights out when they are ready... But when?

How long does it take from laying to hatching?

Depending on temp at 80-82 after lights out on the 7th day shine a flash light in the tank and they will be attracted to it and swim over but still hard to see as they are so small

It seems like the eggs stay longer than 7 days and my water is always 79-81

7 seems to be normal but it could be 8 and sometimes they split half on 7 half on 8 so I guess it all depends on your clowns and system.

Hmm... I'm gonna have to watch closer but the last batch seemed to go 10 days...
I'd love to just seem them hatch..

Finally got things going again picked up 2 20 longs and drilled them with 4 holes each bought the glass to divide them painted them black and now need to silicon them in when they dry
Painted the sides and back

And 2 pieces of glass free to anyone who wants them. Just pm me about 11x11

The silicon is cured and each compartment holds water so they are completely separate just in case I need to drain one but not the other. Now I just need 8 bulk heads and a sump.

Little update
After qting johns fish I let the tanks dry out then started cycling the tank again. Thanks to thresher he sold me his clowns that were spawning in his tank.

Now the waiting game starts hope they get comfy and start spawning again soon.

Haven't updated in a while. My pair started to spawn. I let the first clutch go. Today when I was at work my dad text me and the clowns are died. I don't know hoe for sure yet but maybe ato failure. Pretty bummed though.
