i have a pair b/w , male die a female acting weir.female about 4"
QUESTION.can i just buy a diffen color male ? do they fight ?

Yes you can just buy a male that is much smaller than the female. Watch for aggression as the female may be nasty to the new clown and you may need to remove it if it won't stop...

But why did your clown die? Did it look like it had disease like brooknellya or ich? Might not be a good idea to add a fish if so. Any other fish in your tank?

What the Bean is saying is as responsible reef keepers, establish why your clown died. Clowns are pretty hearty. But if there is velvet or brookenella (sp.) in the tank you new to address that first before new additions are made.
