Might not be anything wrong with your tank, sometimes fish just die and if it came from a crappy store then that just makes it that much worst.

Rich your best bet to buy dry goods like text kits, salt, filter media would b on line.

Also this hobby is expensive. Just like the expression when u own a boat "whip out another $1000". I couldn't tell u how much I've lost just in live things that died. In the last 15 years I'd put it some where in 10k range and that's at minimum.

But for real how is it a high monthly cost. 15y times 12m equals 180 month. At minimum 10,000 divided by 180 equals 55.55 a month. To b honest I usually spend $50 a week on new things.

I'm very surprised no one has asked what live rock you are using and do you run a sump if so what is in there? You said you bought the tank used but didn't mentioned anything about live rock or you filtration method. If 76 degrees is where you are running your tank that is to cold IMO.. 80-82 is what I found to be ideal. If I missed this info I apologize..

Have around 50 pounds of live rock am running a sump all I have in the sump is a lil bit of live rock the skimmerand a filter sock also have a refuge in the loop I bought hermits and turbos and there doing awesome all my levels are were they should be im thinking it was just the fish. Also the temp is actually at 78 it varies from 78 to 82 because I dont have a chiller yet my thermometer was inacurate bought a digital one andchecked it with a thermometer
