I am sure I'll be back... several times. This is my first saltwater tank and I picked up my very first live rock today. Wheee!!! So this is the thread where you get to laugh and make fun of me, go ahead. It'll be fun!

So for our first entry, we have:

My guess: Red corraline algae? :)

Yeah, I've also noticed this seems to be a male-dominated hobby. Maybe because it can require so many "toys." :D Nice to see another female face too!!

The red stuff is very hard, but not spiky. Just rough to the touch. It's all over the place, some bigger patches, lots of smaller spots. They are cool so I guess we'll see how it progresses. :)

Whoa, just as I was lamenting that I didn't really get many hitchhikers on my LR, this dude showed up. Sorry for the blurry photo. :( He's about 5/8" of an inch long, lime green with a bumpy/spiky back and what almost looked like a sucker at his rear end. Very caterpillar like, actually. Very slow, it took him a few minutes to crawl back into the crack away from the light. Sea cucumber? Whatcha think?

Yeah, maybe ceratosoma sinuatum? Whatever he was, he must be hungry. Not that he'll find much food in the tank right now. :(
