Hi there,
I fed my condy yesterday with a small piece of raw shrimp. Today in the morning I found it completely closed and it just started opening (slowly) when I turned the lights on. Is this normal?

She has been in the tank for a few days now, apparently doing fine, but last night after feeding she moved to hide under some rocks and closed down during the night.

I don't know if this is normal. Appreciate the advice.
Thanks

ya it's normal, new anemones will often hide until they feel it's safe to come out and find a spot to hang out in. also they do regularly shrink up, usually at night, as a way to excrete waste. the anemone is still new, so give it time to adjust. oh and hopefully your tank is around 6 months old, anemones need mature tanks to do well, condies to tend to be more hardy though in my experience.

cool so you got yourself a nano?

Did you get it from here?

Anemones are frustrating sometimes, should be normal ,they hide and close up when they are not happy though. so just keep an eye on him.

and in a new tank it can be difficult. everything is difficult in a newer steup

Oh yes, I have had this 29G nano for ~3 months. The other nano I am looking for is for my office. What can I say, I got hooked up on the hobby!

My peppermint shrimp was trying to steal the condy's food last night, perhaps this stressed her out. The little guy is fearless! I put him there to battle Aiptasias but he goes for the cheap shot to steal food. Go figure.

oh cool.

Yeah either way you should have better luck finding one here among other things.

And your office sounds like a good place for maybe 180 gallon compared to the ocean it is nano.........lol

good luck
