I have a Neptune Apex Controller which i believe has ports for variable speed drive. And i currently have 2 Koralia 4's in my 80 gal mix reef.

My objective is to achieve variable flow in the tank without speeding too much money.

One thought was to run my Koralias on a on/off cycle through the controller to create variance in the flow throughout the day. However i know in this will destroy the Koralias in the long run.

So the main question is how can i get the flow i want without speeding hundreds on a set of Tunze and Tunze controller?

Are there any fans that will attach to the Apex controller that wont need their own controller?

Buy 1 Mp40w? You'll spend about the same amount of money in the end, but it already comes with a controller and you can upgrade to more later on if you want!

mp40's knock down stuff though... a wave box would be a better investment... more gentle wave, and the wave even goes thru the back of the rocks... the mp40 doesn't do that unless you have more than one...

i think the red sea controller has that soft start thing... but i don't know becuase i don't have one...

good luck though... you could try a closed loop with a scwid...
