The problem with top-off isn't a problem because the corals are out of the water, but when you are topping off your tank you are making sure the salinity of the water remains consistent. With out consistent water your corals will die no matter what.
As for the video thanks everyone, I thought it was a really cool video it just goes to show how much of the reef (Reguardless) if you have a sweet piece or not, we actually do not have. Think about how many crazy looking acros are in just a 50 foot by 50 foot area there on the reef! Amazing!
I remember watching a show and they said that if you were to take a 12x12x12 box and put it over a single part of the great barrier reef, then if you count all the living organisms in that box it would be over 100,000! That's pretty amazing.
