Tim actually had a Raccoon Butterfly fish if i remember correctly. The fish did not pick on coral at first but after most of the aptasia was gone I was nipping on the coral

I think the raccoon is much riskier than a copperband, as far as eating coral goes.

Thanks for the additional info. I don't have a UV on my system big enough to work effectively so I'll just have to keep an eye on it. I do have Garlic Extreme so I'll be sure to use that.

he is eating small mysis, and when i throw in my other concoctions he actively pursues whatever is in the water column.
they had several at the lfs, i chose this one because he was not intimidated when i approached the tank, stayed and looked at me, the others hid. put him in the tank and he never hid. has been out and about from the second he hit the water.

I picked-up one last Sunday so far all it eats are tube worms from my zoa colonies, doesn't go after anything that I throw in the tank. Is there a way to train this guys to eat frozen food?

I bought mine from Jeff's Aquatics in Orange. I was stupid and bought one that didn't eat frozen at the store and had BAD ich, when I got him home my yellow tang and koran angel beat him up for a few days, didn't eat for the first 3 days but then ate raw clams from the grocery, then started eating frozen mysis and brine and the ich went away within 5 days. Now, 6 months later, he's the best personality in the tank besides the maroon clown, eats anything right out of my fingers (except flakes, which I quit feeding a while ago), after 2 weeks began eating aiptasia and completely eradicated them within 4 days, now I haven't seen one since. Go for it, I was lucky even ignoring all the bad signs at the store. No problem with him picking at corals but he did nip my crocea a bit before it crashed, that was 4 months ago, no problem with corals tho.

Try that clam technique mentioned above. But whole clams at the grocery store and throw one in there. Also try live blackworms.
